Welcome back to another week of the Chronicles, this week we have our lovely Rebekah, fellow Mariachi Luna Llena violinist and Hanzsenite.
Hola todos!I’ve finally emerged from my wonderfully chaotic summer, and I’m here to give a quick recap of what I’ve been up to these past few months!
Roadtripping Across the Country🚙The summer kicked off and ended with a 2000+ mile road trip between Dallas, TX (home sweet home) to Seattle, WA (aka my temporary home for work). I took the scenic route and made time to explore some beautiful places along the way. By the end of the summer, I had visited 7 national parks! Hiking, stargazing, and taking in views that felt straight out of a movie.

Amazon Internship💻I spent 12 weeks living in Seattle and working as a Software Development Engineer (SDE) at Amazon, where I contributed to the Amazon Trade-In program. I’ll spare you the tech details, but it was such a rewarding experience to be part of a team building real-world features. Working at one of the biggest tech companies while surrounded by mountains and water? Not a bad way to spend a summer.
The PNW☀️When I wasn’t at work, I was in nature. Seattle summers are absolutely magical and such an escape from the Texas heat and you know I took full advantage. I hiked almost every week, visited all three national parks in Washington (Mount Rainier, Olympic, and North Cascades), took a weekend trip up to Vancouver, and even went white water rafting for the first time!

Wedding Prep💍Somewhere between hiking, working, and living my PNW life, I was also helping prep for one of my oldest friends’ weddings! It was so surreal to see my middle school bestie walk down the aisle. A beautiful ceremony, lots of dancing, and a whole lot of nostalgia.

Now it is time to pack up and head back to Houston. So excited to be back with my mariachi family and start my 4th semester in the group!
Hasta luego,
Rebekah
